Details

Where a prosecutor conducts a pre-trial interview to assess the reliability of a witness's evidence, the witness may be asked about the content of his/her statement or other issues that relate to reliability. This may include taking the witness through her/her statement, asking questions to clarify and expand the evidence, asking questions relating to character, exploring new evidence or probing the witness account.
